When I was little I hated it when people would say my mom didn't look old enough to be my mom. Strangers would comment all the time about how we looked like sisters. My mom, of course, loved it. I hated it.

My mom celebrated her 50th birthday on Saturday night (she'll be the first to remind you that she's still 49 for 8 more days). Now that I'm older I feel fortunate to have a mom who's so young. She's still my mom, but I feel like we've become a lot like sisters too. She's my best friend and I'm so lucky to have such great parents.

Mommy, I love you very much and I hope that the next 50 years are as good as the first! Enjoy your show!

PS Thanks to EB Fraley for an AMAZING performance. If you ever need an entertainer for a party, check him out! Or go see him live. I promise you won't be disappointed! And thanks to Nate, the wonderful bartender, and Brownstone cafe for AWESOME food.

Last month my husband called me and said, "I found you your next wedding!" It turns out that my husband is handing out my business card to every girl he sees with an engagement ring. Well, not every girl, but the girls at his bank. Chuck saw that his teller was wearing an engagement ring, but she was already married. However, the manager of the bank, Nick, isn't. Nick's fiancee, Aimee-Marie, called me the next day. We clicked instantly and she booked me on the spot for their October wedding. I have to admit that I was a little nervous to meet them for their engagement session. They turned out to be above and beyond my expectations. Aimee-Marie is practically a model and Nick was so relaxed in front of the camera. I gave these two no direction at all. I had so much fun shooting their pictures and can't wait for their October wedding! Here's their slideshow!

On Saturday Greg Bumatay brought me along to shoot a wedding at the Sherman Library and Gardens in Corona Del Mar. When I got my very first film SLR camera I went there to get some pretty flower shots. It was fun to go back! It's an amazing venue with lots of great places for pictures. The bride, Melissa, and her bridesmaids were so much fun to hang out with. Melissa has the most amazing eyes! Granted, they are color contacts, but they looked amazing! The groom, Kevin, was so sweet and even serenaded his bride. Take a look at the pictures below.

This image wasn't photoshopped at all. Don't her eyes look amazing?
Dad getting a little emotional before the ceremony.
These two kept me laughing all day.

The ring bearer got a little bored during the ceremony.

All the bride's old boyfriends returning her house keys.

Tonight I did my fastest beach engagement session ever! Kari and Shane had a long drive from Pasadena, but they made it with about 15 minutes of sunlight to spare! So, after we were done at the beach we headed down to Downtown Laguna and did some fun night shots. We even found an old phone booth and had some fun in there ;) I'm shooting Kari and Shane's wedding in less than a month and I'm so excited to work with this extremely photogenic couple again! Last Saturday I had the pleasure of shooting with Greg Bumatay. He's awesome! I've admired his work for awhile so it was great to get to shoot with him. The wedding ceremony took place at Calvary Chapel in Santa Ana and the reception was at Meadowlark Golf Course in Huntington Beach. During the formal pictures I got hit by a golfball! A line drive right in the wrist. It hurt! And I don't even have a good bruise to prove that it happend! However, it's a good thing that it didn't hit my camera or the bride. So I will stop complaining ;) Check out the pictures of this gorgeous couple!

Right after I got hit by the golfball. Shooting through the pain :)
