Hauggy Says...

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

In case you can't tell, he's a lobster. He wanted to be a French Fry or an In 'N Out employee, but we couldn't find either of those costumes. One of his favorite toys is his lobster that we got him from Maine a few years ago so he decided to be a lobster too. Doesn't he look thrilled? I think he's ready for the baby to be born so I'll stop taking so many pictures of him :)

I'm off to go trick or treating with my two favorite little kids, Owen and Emma. I think Owen is going to be the black Spiderman and Emma is Alice in Wonderland. Should be fun. I hope they give me lots of their candy :) Have a happy and safe Halloween everyone!

Meet Bruce!

Meet our baby turtle, Bruce. Isn't he handsome?

Our first night in Puerto they released a whole bunch of baby sea turtles on the beach of our hotel. We named our little guy Bruce because our little friend Owen likes that name. He wants us to name our baby Bruce or French Fry, but Chuck had a bad dream about someone named Bruce and I think our baby would kill us if we named him French Fry. So, we named our little turtle Bruce.

Here he is going into the big world. Look how grown up he is!

And here are all of his friends.

I hope Bruce is doing okay! I'm so proud of him!

Waiting in Puerto...

Chuck and I are hanging out before our shuttle comes to pick us up from our hotel and I'm waisting money to get on the internet. Oh well. I've gone without for almost 4 days! I needed a fix!

Scott and Rita's wedding was so awesome. Probably the most gorgeous wedding I've ever shot. It was hot (really hot), but that didn't stop everyone from having a great time. I shot their day after session this morning and got some more awesome shots. I'll blog about it in the next couple of days.

For now, I can't wait to get home to my puppy and some In 'N Out! Adios amigos!

Adios Amigos!

I'm off to Puerto Vallarta to shoot Rita and Scott's wedding! I'm super excited about this wedding! Awesome couple, cool location, and I get to get away from the yucky, smokey southern California air :)

I will definitely have no phone access and will probably have no internet access either. I will be returning on Monday (hopefully very tan) and will return phone calls and emails then.

Have a great week everyone!

The Cox Family

We had perfect weather and a perfect sunset for the Cox's family session in Laguna last week. I always look forward to shooting girls because they tend to be a little calmer and have less energy than little boys, but this was not the case for Lexee. She's 7 and she is fearless! She was climbing all over the rocks and picking up sea urchins. That girl has no fear! Kylee is 12 and she's a soccer player. We both play midfield, so naturally we got along. I had a lot of fun with these two girls and their mom, Natasha! Thanks so much for driving all the way down from Camarillo to shoot with me! Here's your slideshow and some of my favorite pictures!

I love my clients!

I was just working on some of my albums from this year and thinking about what a great year I've had. Only 3 more weddings left for the year and I've been so lucky to work with great clients, most of whom have become good friends of mine. Next year I'm only taking a limited number of weddings because I have to figure out this whole "mom" thing and I've actually almost met my goal and am completely booked up. And it's only October! I'm super excited for all of my weddings next year! Not only do I get to work with such great people, but I'm also getting to shoot at some of Southern California's best venues. I'm really excited and very, very lucky!

One of my couples, Nikki and Jeff, came over to meet with me this weekend. Nikki was a bridesmaid at Brigid and Dave's wedding last month and they are getting married at the Balboa Bay Club in April. Both of their moms came to our meeting and it was so funny because Jeff's mom takes pictures at all of their vendor meetings. How special did I feel? Here's the picture. No, my dog isn't possessed. For some reason my red eye remover in photoshop doesn't work for blue eyes... Shout out to Nikki who reads my blog when she's bored at work :) Don't tell her boss!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

The Bengards

The Bengards are one of my most favorite families to shoot. I've been shooting Aiden since he was a baby and now he's a big 2 year old who loves trains. So, it only made sense to have their family session at the Train Depot in San Juan Capistrano. Aiden was SO excited for the trains! I thought it might be a distraction, but it was such a good motivator. Aiden was making me laugh the whole time. He's such a little charmer! I think I have a new boyfriend :) Two is my favorite age for kids. It might not be when it's my own kid, but when I get to give them back to the parents I love toddlers. They are so much fun!

Here are just a few of my favorite pictures. Here's the slideshow... finally!

Mr. & Mrs. Shakarian

Christina and Coren called their wedding "The Big, Fat, Armenian Wedding", and they did not disappoint! It was a day full of crazy dancing, music, food, loving toasts, and fun.

The day started at the home of Christina's parents. In Armenian weddings the bride and groom see each other before the bride puts her dress on. I love this shot of Christina peeking as the boys arrive!

After they do a bit of dancing the bride puts her dress on.

There's a lot of traditions in Armenian weddings. The brother of the bride puts on her shoes, but since Christina doesn't have a brother her brother-in-law was going to put her shoes on. However, her nephew decided to take on the task. How cute!

They also pass the veil around the bride 3 times, but to save time they only did it once :)

I love this shot of Corey seeing Christina in her dress for the first time!

After some more dancing we headed to a park to do the formal shots. Christina and Corey had a HUGE bridal party. The biggest I've ever shot. Luckily they were very easy to work with!

The ceremony was held at St. Garabed Church in Hollywood. It's the church that Christina's family attends and it's gorgeous!

The reception was held at the Omni Hotel in Downtown LA. The lighting and centerpieces were beautiful! Professional lighting is SO important! It makes such a huge difference and turns a stark, boring reception hall into a spectacular ballroom!

Christina and Corey, thank you so much for including me in your big, fat Armenian wedding! It was such a pleasure to work with the two of you! I hope you are having an amazing time in Tahiti! Here's your slideshow!
